Linn Area Craft and Vendor Show deemed a success in first appearance at St. George

LINN — Linn Area Craft and Vendor Show organizer Judy Hicks said she is pleased with Sunday’s event, held at St. George for the first time, sponsored by the St. George Home and School Association.

“It was a little tight, but we all made it work,” she said. “We have found a new home for the show, new sponsors, and we are truly thankful. They believe in this show and the need to keep this alive. The community showed there is a desire to keep it up and running, so God willing, we will continue.”

Parking was a challenge, but Hicks said no one complained. “Most area businesses didn’t care if people parked in their lots. If anyone did, people steered clear of that and didn’t let that bother them. Spirits were high and everybody enjoyed the event.”

St. Ann’s Society held a bake sale for the show, and the Knights of Columbus operated a food booth in the gym. “Both of them are truly appreciated so much,” said Hicks.

St. George Home and School Association officers and volunteer parents, the eighth-grade class, CYO, and A+ students needing service hours helped out. “They all pulled together to make this a great show,” said Hicks.

The show featured a great list of crafters and vendors offering florals, candles, soaps, melts, dolls and dolls clothes, crochet, knitting, sewing, woodworking, honey, jelly, baked goods, kettle corn, nuts, purses, storage containers, skincare, food-related items, cleaning products, toys, hair bows and hair wraps, quilts, ornaments, ceramics, clothing boutiques, fishing lures, and much more.

“We would like to thank the St. George Parish for allowing this community to continue with the show,” said Hicks.
