LINN — Linn aldermen approved Resolution #2026-007, which retained Nathan Nickolaus with Lauber Municipal Law Firm as the new legal counsel for the city at a special meeting held on Thursday, June 4, effective immediately.
Aldermen chose Lauber Municipal Law Firm because they only represent public entities. The hourly rate for basic services would be $205 per hour, which is discounted from their standard rate of $250 per hour. Work that is completed by non-attorney staff will be billed at $110 per hour.
There is no minimum number of hours that need to be billed per month, and the city can use the services as needed. Special matters will be billed at the standard rate of $250 per hour.
Aldermen also interviewed Erin L. Wiseman with Brydon, Swearengen & England. Wiseman proposed an hourly rate of $320 per hour.
