Linn Spring Craft, Vendor Show a success

LINN    Linn’s Spring Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday was a success, though organizer Judy Dudenhoeffer Hicks said it would have been better if it weren’t so cold. “The people outside were fighting the cold and the wind,” she explained. “Nobody complained, but I am sure not everybody did the best again because of the weather. I hate to blame the weather, but it did play a big part.”

Linn VFW 4756 Auxiliary teamed up with Barefoot Event Center and Storage and the permanent business wing at the facility to host the event, with many located in two halls and some sitting outside behind the grandstand at Linn City Park. More than 75 vendors were in attendance.

Linn FFA members going to Washington, D.C., provided concessions. “The FFA group did a great job,” said Hicks. “People were happy with the food, and they delivered, which was a plus.”

Next year’s spring show will be moving.

“I have talked with a group that is willing to continue this show at a new location,” said Hicks.

American Legion 544 will host the event at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Westphalia. Led by Legion member Mary Lea Berhorst, Hicks said the group is very excited for the opportunity to use this as their fundraiser.

Hicks said she would be there to help Berhorst. “We’re just moving locations to a bigger and better location,” she added.

Hicks is now planning for the fall show on Oct. 22 at the Linn R 2 Complex.
