LINN  — Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe is scheduled to deliver remarks at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, to kick off this year’s Career Expo at State Tech, which will be the biggest yet, with 300 employers registered for the annual event.

Kehoe will greet employers and students who will soon enter the workforce, providing a positive impact on Missouri’s workforce development needs.

“With State Tech’s enrollment growth, we are pleased to welcome a record number of industry partners who are providing employment and internship opportunities for our strong student body,” said State Tech VP of External Relations Shannon Grus.

State Tech boasts a 99% job placement rate for students after graduation.

“The outstanding work of faculty and staff over the years has prepared our students to be sought after upon graduation, proving once again State Tech is the Employers’ Choice,” said President Dr. Shawn Strong.

State Tech also offers free lifetime career services to all alumni, who are invited to attend the Career Expo and encouraged to sign up for an account. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this online system allows alumni to create and manage a personal account. Users can search for jobs by major and receive notifications for new job opportunities.

Due to the demand from employers, the Career Expo will be broken up into two sessions. The morning session will be held from 9-11:30, with a two-hour lunch break, followed by the afternoon session from 1:30-4. Individual student interviews will be held from 1-4 p.m.
