Marilyn Jean Starke, 73, Linn, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
She was born on Aug. 31, 1952, to the late Norbert Hubert and Mary Ellen (Rustemeyer) Brandt in Jefferson City.
She was a 1971 graduate of Linn High School and a 2003 graduate of Lincoln University in Jefferson City with a degree in Business Administration.
Marilyn was employed with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. She retired to take care of her parents and later went to work for the Linn License office for a couple of years.
Marilyn was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
She enjoyed doing anything for her grandchildren, like watching their ballgames or just taking them places. She also liked gardening, canning, spending time on the family farm, cooking or going on cousin trips. Marilyn would do anything to help someone in need and always put others before herself. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by parents, Norbert and Mary Ellen.
She is survived by sons, Eric Starke and Brad Starke and wife Melissa, both of Bonnots Mill; grandchildren, Jacob, Katlyn, Aaron and Emma Starke, all of Bonnots Mill and her pride and joy; brother, Marvin Brandt of Bonnots Mill; life partner, Rodney Brinkmann of Linn; along with several cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held (today),Wednesday, June 3, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn, with Rev. Colin P. Franklin officiating. Interment was held in St. George Parish Cemetery.
