Maureen “Mo” Anne Kremer, 74, Columbia, passed away on July 15, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born on March 15, 1952, one of seven children to the late Daniel and Anne (Vrablik) Brandon in Portsmouth, Va.
As her father was Active Duty in the U.S. Navy, she and her family had moved to Hawaii during her high school years where she graduated from Aiea High School in Aiea, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu in 1970.
After her father’s tour in Hawaii, Mo and her family moved back to Maryland where she met her husband Bob Kremer while working at the VFW in Fredrick, Md. when Bob was assigned to Fort Deitrick, Md. U.S. Army Biological Warfare Laboratories. They were united in marriage on March 15, 1975, in Rockville, Md. before moving to Missouri.
Her greatest joy was being Grammo to her four grand-girls and loved them so fiercely. She also found happiness in cross-stitching baby blankets and other gifts for friends and family, rescuing a number of animals from the humane society including her “two boys” Larry and Curley who never left her side, and her lifelong joy of putting her natural green thumb to use wherever she roamed, be that vacation destinations, offices, and friend/family houses. Mo had such a knack for growing and rehabilitating plants, her home sunroom transformed into a makeshift greenhouse and plant rehabilitation center.
Known as “The Plant Lady” around Columbia, she worked for Plant Designs for 26 years caring for plants all over the city, retiring in 2025 and prior to that was secretary for the Communications Department in Switzler Hall at the University of Missouri for 16 years where she made life-long friends with students and staff alike.
Mo was preceded in death by husband of 49 years, Bob; parents Daniel and Anne Brandon; and brothers, Robert and Daniel Brandon.
She is survived by children, Andrew Kremer and wife Amanda of Cincinnati Ohio and Erin Moore of Columbia; grandchildren, Ava and Emma Moore and Addison and Ainsley Kremer; siblings Patty Schwerkolt and husband Rodger of Brewster, N.Y., David Brandon and wife Gretchen of Nokomis, Fla., James Brandon and wife Becky of Lutz, Fla. and John Brandon and wife Barbara of Darnstown, Md.; and maternal uncle, John Vrablik of Falls Church, Va.
