I just don’t understand why all Americans aren’t hopping mad at our politicians and administrators, but thanks to indoctrination and ignorance, we remain complacent once again. For decades our border problems have been a cancerous drain on our country and nothing gets done to change it. The Left self-righteously quotes the Statue of Liberty plaque while the Right is labeled as heartless and having ulterior motives (cheap labor).
Like most political issues, all we have to do is look at the law, as this problem has successfully been dealt with time and time again in the past. There’s an obligation to enforce the law and “support and defend” just like it says in the oaths of our officials until laws are changed. Somewhere we just stopped enforcing the law.
Unenviably, we don’t even know how many and from where these illegal immigrants come. Sources read anywhere from 11 to 30 million people from more than a hundred countries around the world; many are our enemies. It would be so easy to slip covert agents in with the hundreds of thousands that come in each month. I realize the solemnity of these words, but are you seriously naïve enough to believe all these people are nothing more than “your tired, your poor, your huddled masses” blah, blah, blah? Are we cultivating another 9/11 scenario under the misguided veil of WWJD?
We just crossed the $33 Trillion National debt benchmark. “Every state is a border state” is a reality. Infrastructure is crumbling everywhere; even liberal sanctuary states are demanding a stop. With each illegal emigree expectations rise for the next wave; better transportation, assistance, accommodations. When do the petulant poor become the uncontrollable mob. It’s spiraled unimaginably out of control. I have to show ID to board an airplane while an illegal can produce a CBP document and board the same aircraft. I pay taxes my entire working life and an undocumented is bussed to a 5-star hotel. Many states are issuing drivers licenses, no questions asked. Can voting for the illegal immigrant be far away?
As I type this, President Biden announced quasi-amnesty to 470,000 more Venezuelans and immigration activists are demanding this be expanded to all illegal immigrants. While Missourians may be semi-insulated now you can bet we are paying for it and will surely see the direct impact of crime, costs, National security, jobs and more soon. This is just insanity by anyone’s definition.
Do you think we might just be getting played (again?) till November 2024? Oh, I know the answer, just “shut up, and put your mask on,” “do what your told,” “It’s for the greater good”……”arbeit macht frei” and all that.
