Osage County Health Department has released a Phase II Reopening Mitigation Advisory No. 2, which began Tuesday, June 16, and will continue through July 31.

The advisory lists reopening recommendations for Osage County businesses to continue to stop the spread of COVID-19 as phase II is enacted and is meant to "address the issues of the businesses in the county that allows them to reopen while protecting the consumers, visitors, and citizens of the county," according to the health department.

In addition, the advisory can "easily be scaled, edited, or amended as required by future Governor's Orders," or as needed to meet the specific needs of the communities it covers.

Included in the advisory are recommendations for the reopening of gyms and fitness centers; salons; public libraries and colleges; video rental stores; retail stores and indoor events; country clubs and golf courses; playgrounds; garage, yard and rummage sales; festivals, fairs, sports and other outside community events; places of worship; restaurants, dining rooms, bars and pubs, coffee shops, food and convenience stores; waiting rooms, medical, dental, veterinary offices and pharmacies; schools and child care facilities; manufacturing and repair facilities, construction and service industries; and long term care and assisted living facilities as well as funeral homes. It also covers high-risk populations.

Guidelines for many businesses include providing hand sanitizer at the entrance of the facility, regularly disinfecting surfaces, keeping a log of visitors, enforcing social distancing of six feet and encouraging the use of masks. Many businesses are also recommended to operate at 25 to 50 percent capacity and to restrict employee-travel if possible.

The health department also continues to urge individuals to continue practicing social distancing, good hygiene and wearing masks while in public. Another recommendation is that individuals who travel outside of Missouri self-quarantine for 14 days upon return to minimize the potential spread of the virus.
