Patricia Marie Mehmert, 92, Chamois, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026.
She was born on April 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rheua (Lamb) Morton.
She was a member of the Chamois High School graduating class of 1951.
Patricia was united in marriage to Paul Mehmert on June 19, 1954. She and Paul lived in various locations during the early years of their marriage while Paul served in the U.S. Air Force and held various jobs following his service. They returned to Chamois in 1963 to raise their family.
After her children were grown, Patricia worked for the Farm Service Agency in Linn, for 13 years.
She was a lifetime member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois, celebrating her baptism, confirmation and marriage there, as well as those of her children.
Patricia was a devoted daughter, wife and mother. She found great value in caring for others and devoted much of her life to her family. She cared for her father after her mother’s passing, nurtured her children as they grew, and cared for her husband as his health declined. Patricia was a role model of giving love without any thought of an earthly reward.
She was preceded in death by husband, Paul; parents, Lawrence and Rheua Mehmert; and brothers, Charles and Glennon Morton.
Patricia is survived by daughters, Paula Helle and husband Wayne and Victoria Sallin and husband Dale; sons, Steven Mehmert and wife Shelley and Samuel Mehmert; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12 until 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 28, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Chamois. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m., with a Funeral Mass to follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Bailey’s Creek Cemetery.
