BONNOTS MILL — Osage County Sheriff Mike Bonham was not happy with the end result of Monday’s high-speed pursuit that started in Loose Creek and ended in Bonnots Mill near CR 416.
“High-speed chases are never a good experience for us or the people involved,” he said. “It’s even worse when a child is involved. I’m thankful no one was hurt in this incident.”
James Coffman 40, of Bonnots Mill, was a person of interest in a domestic situation in Morgan County earlier in the day and was believed to be headed to an address in Bonnots Mill.
Deputies initiated a stop in Loose Creek but Coffman fled, and nearly made it to his home on CR 416.
Coffman was taken into custody without further incident. After the arrest, a 2-year-old child was discovered in the vehicle.
Charges are pending in Morgan County for the domestic situation, and Bonham has applied for charges of driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and assault.
Coffman was being held at the Osage County Detention Center without bond at the time of this release.
