Random Observations, to Include Mrs. Charlotte J. Schnieders

Dear Editor:

Mrs. Schnieders commented that Donald Trump, and realized the importance of “Trickle down” in his latest tax bill. Over a four-decade period, the much-vaunted trickle down has averaged about 3 percent.  In truth, over 30 times was spent by CEOs buying back their stock, giving a sugar high to the stock market.   Does anybody know anybody who’s family has gotten that much promised $4,500.00 pay increase as a result of the 2017 tax bill.  I don’t.   I have a degree in Economics, and never once did I hear that theory brought up in college

Donald Trump keeps referring to the current Covid-19 pandemic as a “hoax.”  He should try telling that to the families of over 90,000 families and counting, who are casualties of such.  But I have to say that Donald Trump has over 13 hoaxes, name brand Trump logos that failed, not to mention 6 bankruptcies of his companies that he always seems to escape.  Now it appears that he wants to do the same thing to the entire country.

I wonder how Mrs. Schnieders feels about Michael Flynn not being registered as a foreign agent. That the proposed dropping of charges by Bill Barr, Donald Trump’s, in his own words, Roy Cohn?   But there is a problem there.  Judge Sullivan, originally a Reagan appointee, is saying “Not so fast” and has hired another retired judge to investigate this proposal deeper.  Bill Barr may well regret his decision to drop all charges.

Then we have the situation of four IGs being summarily dismissed on Friday night news dumps.  In all cases, Donald Trump has “Lost confidence” in the personnel involved.  I guess that the four individuals forgot to take the Trump loyalty oath, which reminds me of Hitler, among other despots.  But Trump always seems to admire and respect such rulers, witness Vladimir Putin.  The latest firing of Steve Linick has really raised eyebrows, as Donald Trump has stated, and Mike Pompeo concurs, that he was asked to do so by Mike Pompeo.   It seems that Mr. Linick was not only investigating Mr. Pompeo for misuse of taxpayer dollars in regards to personal services, but also the proposed sale of weapons to Saudi Arabia against the will of Congress.  Some of us recall that an American resident, Jamal Khashoggi, was literally cut up while alive, in an apparent revenge killing by the ruler of Saudi Arabia.  Donald Trump has stated that “We get a lot of jobs from Saudi Arabia”, and again refused to believe his intelligence agencies and the UN on this.  What he doesn’t mention is that the Trump family apparently has a lot of personal financial arrangements with Saudi Arabia.

Sincerely,
Frank J. Thomezek
