Robert Charles Eynard, 80, Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Jefferson City.

He was born Aug. 20, 1942, to the late Albin and Alvina (Bonnot) Eynard in Bonnots Mill.

He was a 1960 graduate of Fatima High School and served his country in the U. S. Army during Vietnam. 

Robert was united in marriage to Peggy Senevey Sept. 6, 1969, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.

He farmed the family farm in Frankenstein and worked as a rural mail carrier for 30 years delivering to Frankenstein, Bonnots Mill, Loose Creek and Westphalia which was the same route that  his father had driven for 47 years.

Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, especially preference, gardening, raising peanuts and cooking. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. 

Robert was a man who never met a stranger and who had a great sense of humor. His motto in life was “have a great day and a better tomorrow”. 

Robert was a dedicated man and was always available to help another person. His family was very important to him. 

Robert was preceded in death by parents, Albin and Alvina; sister, Mary Ann Schepker; and brothers, Donald and William Eynard.

He is survived by spouse of 53 years, Peggy; children, Velvet Meers and husband Jeff of Jefferson City, Rachelle LeCure of Ashland and Douglas Eynard and partner Michael Paul of St. Louis; grandchildren, Abby and Grace LeCure and Jacob, Tyler and Logan Meers; brother-in-law, Bob Schepker of Jefferson City; sister-in-law, Elaine Steele of Loose Creek;  and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, July 1, followed by a memorial service at Morton Chapel in Linn with Rev. Samuel Powell officiating. Inurnment with full Military Honors will be held at Linn Public Cemetery.
