State Tech earns another top-five ranking

State Technical College of Missouri has been ranked as one of the top five colleges in the nation by Value Colleges, which, in a recent article, featured only fully accredited institutions that have proven their value for graduates on the job and in the job market.

Value Colleges rankings are based on verified data from sources including IPEDS and Niche. Programs are ranked according to factors including cost and student satisfaction, so students can feel certain their choice of program will have a positive impact on their career, Value Colleges noted in the article.

This ranking mentioned State Tech’s 99% job placement rate and the school’s relationships with more than 500 industry partners on advisory boards. They also recognized State Tech’s high graduation rates and hands-on education.

“This national ranking was interesting in that it included a number of schools we don’t normally see,” said State Tech President Dr. Shawn Strong. “State Tech was the highest-ranked Midwest college.”

Dr. Strong noted that 50% of the top-10 colleges were from the state of California, potentially a result of high wages.

“I wonder if cost of living was included in the ranking calculation we would have risen to the top spot?” Dr. Strong added. “Top 5 in the Country is still very good and we appreciate the Value Colleges recognition. Our advice to (high school) seniors still thinking about going to State Tech: We are 96% full and expect to set another enrollment record this fall. Get your application complete today.”

In addition to the Value Colleges ranking, State Tech is also rated number one in the nation by WalletHub, number three in the nation by Forbes Magazine, and fourth in the nation by Brookings.
