TREC Director of Field Training Services Craig Moeller of Bonnots Mill heads up the Lineman’s Rodeo and works with the international program. Kevin Prenger, a district supervisor at the cooperative, and Tyler Wieberg served as a judges. Several TREC linemen were among 59 contestants at the sixth annual Lineman’s Rodeo at the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives in Jefferson City. The purpose of the event is to raise money for international trips where linemen build power lines to villages that have never had electricity. Kleffner helped build power lines to a village in Caracol, Haiti, for 19 days in January and February 2013. The international program was implemented by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), with support from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the NRECA International Foundation.
