True cost of electric vehicles

Posted

Dear Editor:

Brent Bennett, PhD, former battery researcher and engineer published an article by RealClearEnergy to expose the truth about electric vehicles (EV’s).

The Biden administration’s real goal is an authoritarian government at the expense of the American people! Proponents claim the EV’s will be cheaper than gas vehicles, but they benefit from subsidies that total nearly $50,000 per vehicle.

Who’s footing that bill?

Gas vehicle owners, taxpayers and utility ratepayers. Electric vehicles benefit from credits and generous fuel standards that average $27,881 per vehicle. Plus, the lies on rated fuel economy as dealerships report EV’s that go 100 miles as going 667 miles, an unlawful 6.67 multiplier. This standard will require 67% of cars be electric by 2032. Be wary farmers, because they want EV farm equipment and the elimination of cows for a processed meat by Gates.

The price at gas pumps covers the cost of extracting, refining and transportation, while EV’s will increase the strain on electric infrastructure. An EV charging overnight consumes as much power as several homes. Widespread EV adoption will require expensive grid updates, amounting to $11,833 per vehicle over 10 years with costs shared by all utility customers.

Residential utility costs across the US have risen 30% over the last three years — way to go Joe! Federal and state subsidies add an additional $8,984 per vehicle over 10 years. and then $7500 federal tax credit in the “Inflation Reduction Act,” a misnomer. While Biden claims mandates are necessary, the study shows if all carbon emissions were eliminated, the effect on global temperatures in 2100 would only be 0.08 degrees Celsius or 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Chinese, who mine materials to make EV batteries, rarely report emissions, which could emit more carbon than its gasoline counterpart. The study’s conclusion is EV’s will produce significant carbon emissions, while gasoline vehicles are expected to decline 20% over the next decade. The reality is weather has a greater impact on pollution levels in most US cities than emissions from our vehicles. Currently, 90% of EV’s purchased in the US are second cars in addition to a gas vehicle. If Americans adopt this hoax, consumers would have to purchase EV’s, ten times greater than any model car in history. The International Energy Agency forecasts that 70% of people in “the world” must have an EV to meet the climate goals by 2050. Coercing Americans to buy expensive EV’s is untenable and removes all freedoms. The study shows EV’s have already cost Americans $22 billion annually and is predicted to rise, as Biden also gives other countries trillions of dollars, while driving the US auto industry into bankruptcy.
