Trump’s woes continue

In the State of Florida, State Farm is raising insurance rates by 40 percent, and not selling any new policies.  Farmers insurance is simply abandoning the state.  If you don’t believe in climate change, you might consider these multi-billion companies.

This month will be the hottest in 125,000 years.  If you take every 10-year period and compare it to the next 10-year period, over the last 60 years, each succeeding 10-year period was hotter than the previous.  Certainly, that is not due to chance.  In fact, climate change is already here and we are all paying for it.

Ex-President Trump keeps losing in court, often with his own judges.  With over 60 cases that he has lost, I wonder if he isn’t tired of “Winning” yet.  It seems to me that the world’s biggest described winner isn’t in fact the biggest loser.

Monday, Donald Trump lost his appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court, so Fani Willis can proceed with here case.  Ex-President Trump cannot, if convicted pardon himself in either this or the NY case.

In truth, Merrick Garland was so concerned about being political, he did not pursue the entire Trump cases with any degree of priority.  His hand was forced by the J06 hearings and by Donald Trumps declaring himself to be a Presidential candidate.  He then turned the case of to Jack Smith who is determined to get to the truth.

Before anybody criticizes the indictments already issued, they should, as Mr. Smith noted, read the report.  I again do believe in the presumption of innocence; it is part of the rule of law.  But I will note that is in direct contrast to Ex-President Trump’s attitude towards his political opponents, “All I want is to be able to say that he/she is under investigation.”

Certainly, Donald Trump cannot complain about Judge Aileen Cannon, whom he nominated, and just spoke highly of her this past weekend.  I do not question her integrity, but given how she was so quickly overruled in the past, I have concerns about her judgment and experience.  Any rulings can quickly be appealed to the 11th Circuit Court, which has promptly over ridden her in the past.  Judge Cannon will be making an important ruling today as Jack Smith is determined to get to the truth of his indictments, and follow the rule of law.  We, the American people have a right to get to the final truth before, not after the 2024 election.

As of last weekend, Donald Trump was still lying about the Presidential Records Act, part of a long-term trend.  As long as it is legal to lie, thanks to the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine, Ex-President Trump, or anybody else, can lie with impunity until they go under oath.
