Brayden Cotton earned a berth in this weekend’s state track meet following a second-place throw of 43’8 in the shot put last Saturday at the Class 1 sectional at South Callaway.
Savanah Sieg will also represent the Pirates after she finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 90’8.
“I’m very happy with the two going to state on Saturday, and I hope they will do really well,” said Coach John Leach. “It will be a great experience for both of them.”
Sieg will compete at noon and Cotton will throw at 3 p.m., both on Saturday at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City.
Kaden Wuelling just missed advancement in the 110 high hurdles as he finished fifth in 18.41.
“Kaden had a good senior season,” said Leach. “He missed going to state by one place. I will miss him next year, but it is time for a different chapter of his life, and I wish him the best.”
