CALIFORNIA - Moniteau County deputies arrested Hayli Breig, 19, and Lisa L. Owens, 39, both of Chamois, after a tip last Wednesday in California.

According to a press release by the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office, a caller reported they saw two women cutting a catalytic converter off a truck in the commuter parking lot at California Drive and Hwy. 50.

The caller described the vehicle the women were driving, and deputies found the women trying to leave the lot.

Deputies said they found the stolen converter and the tools used to remove it in the women’s car.

Breig and Owens have been charged with one count of stealing a catalytic converter and are being held at the Moniteau County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
