ARGYLE — Argyle trustees could not certify the election results at the meeting held on Thursday, April 16, because several voters were given the wrong ballots on election day.
“There were a few voters who did not receive the correct ballots, so we will not be able to swear in the new board members until the May meeting,” City Treasurer Kym Brunnert said. “The Osage County Clerk is still working on the ballot situation, and we are keeping close contact with her.”
Three people who were write-ins on the ballot have agreed to serve on the board.
“(County Clerk Brooke Dudenhoeffer) is working diligently on this,” Brunnert said.
In other business, resident Angie Thompson will accept a specialty warranty deed for the property she is purchasing from the village for a nominal fee. Village Attorney Nathan Nicholas is currently finalizing the paperwork. He has charged the village a total of $100 so far, and Thompson has agreed to pay all legal fees.
• Trustees tabled accepting Brunnert’s resignation letter until the next meeting.
• The financial report for March included the following expenses: general ($3,375.88) and sewer ($3,763.36).
• The village had the following balances in its accounts: general ($24,646.72), general money market account ($59,505.50), sewer ($5,451.92), sewer money market account ($30,566.33), and sewer debt service ($31,963.88).
•The next meeting will be held on Thursday, May 21, at 7 p.m.
