Special election for Linn mayoral race set for June 9

LINN — A special election in the contested Linn mayoral race will be held June 9 after 40 eligible voters were left without ballots containing the mayoral contest during the April election.

The issue stemmed from administrative errors tied to annexation records that had not been fully entered into the voter system before the April election, according to Interim Osage County Clerk Brooke Dudenhoeffer. The April race was certified with Michael Troesser defeating Dustin Flamm by a 127-101 margin, a difference of 26 votes.

An Osage County judge granted the special election after the Osage County Clerk’s Office petitioned the court under Missouri statute 115.600. Dudenhoeffer previously said the special election would apply only to the 40 affected voters whose ballots did not include the mayoral contest.

Absentee voting for the special election will take place in the Annex building June 1 through June 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 6 from 8 a.m. to noon, and June 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Polls will be open on election day, June 9, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dudenhoeffer said both absentee voting and election day voting will be conducted at the Annex building.
