Wayne Joseph Grellner, 49 of Raleigh, N.C. passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at the University of North Carolina REX Hospital in Raleigh.
He was born Feb. 7, 1974, to the late Thomas and Elsie (Bock) Grellner in Jefferson City and grew up in Frankenstein.
He was a 1992 graduate of Fatima High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Wayne was united in marriage to Jennifer Ford Oct. 23, 2010.
He worked as Director of Business Services for CoreRX, Inc.
Wayne was a great husband and father who had a deep love for his family and who enjoyed spending time with his wife and their daughters, Lizzie and Ellie. He was exceptionally proud of his two girls.
Wayne was also a great son, brother, and best friend to so many people who will remember him for his quick-wit, sarcasm, and love of having fun and joking around.
He loved to cook, take spontaneous trips with his family to the beach and mountains, and enjoyed spending time with his many friends. Wayne will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
He was preceded in death by father, Thomas.
Wayne is survived by wife, Jennifer; mother, Elsie; daughters, Elizabeth Jane and Ellison Kate Grellner; siblings, Gene Grellner and wife Janis, Judy Hicks and husband Kevin, Mary Kever and friend Mark Meyer, John Grellner and wife Jill, Diane Haslag and husband Charles, Rhonda Briot and husband Randy and Alan Grellner and wife Carrie; father-in-law, Steve Ford; mother-in-law, Jane Ford; sister-in-law, Lisa Buss and husband Patrick; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Center for Soy Innovation at 734 S. Country Club Dr., Jefferson City followed by a luncheon.
