Fatima bounced back from a one-run loss to Southern Boone with convincing victories over Union and Capital City last week, improving to 5-2 on the season.
The Lady Comets opened the week Tuesday with a 1-0 loss to Southern Boone despite a strong outing in the circle by Rylie Wieberg.
Wieberg worked all seven innings, allowing one run on six hits with no walks and one strikeout.
Southern Boone scored the game’s only run in the sixth inning.
Fatima finished with four hits, all singles. Wieberg, Sadi Lehmen, Kamryn Lee, and Maci Wilbers each had one.
The Lady Comets responded Thursday with a 9-2 victory over Union behind a big day from Wieberg at the plate and a complete-game performance from Ava Heckemeyer.
Wieberg homered twice and drove in four runs as Fatima collected eight hits. Her first home run, a two-run shot, came in the third inning, and she added another two-run homer in the fifth.
Wilbers also had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Lehmen tripled and drove in a run, while Marlee Oliver brought home a run with a sacrifice fly.
Fatima scored once in the second, twice in the third, three times in the fifth, and three more in the sixth.
Heckemeyer limited Union to three hits and two runs over seven innings. She struck out eight and walked one.
Fatima carried that momentum into Friday’s game against Capital City, pounding out 14 hits in a 12-2 victory.
The Lady Comets scored in every inning, putting up two runs in the first, one in the second, two in the third, two in the fourth, four in the fifth, and one in the sixth.
Lehmen went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Wilbers added three hits, including a double, and drove in two.
Gracie Atkins had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Heckemeyer finished with two hits, including a double, and two RBIs, while Oliver added two hits.
Wieberg added another home run and drove in two runs.
Wieberg also earned the victory in the circle, allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings. She walked one and struck out two.
Fatima was scheduled to play at Linn Tuesday before traveling to Jefferson City Thursday.
