Allen Scott Bockting, 79, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., formerly of Morrison, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023, in a hospital near his home in Los Angeles, Calif.
He was born Jan. 5, 1944, to the late William and Eveline (Layne) Bockting in Sikeston.
He grew up in the Morrison and Pershing area.
Allen was retired from Bockting Transportation in Fontana, Calif.
He was preceded in death by father, William Bockting; mother and step-father, Eveline and Raymond Schowengardt; brothers, William Bockting, Darryl Bockting and Steven Bocking; and sister, Ruth Ann (Schowengardt) Rudroff.
Allen is survived by daughter, Christine Raygoza and husband Al of Covina, Calif.; and son, Matthew Bockting and wife Danielle of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; granddaughters, Shyla and Angle; brothers, David Bockting and friend Sharon of New Haven and Robert Schowengardt and wife Theresa of Morrison; sisters, Nancy Dillahunt and husband Steve of Morrison and Janet Bartok and husband Arvol of Sedalia; sisters-in-law, Betty and Donna Bockting; brother-in law, Terry Rudroff; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, at St. James UCC in Morrison.
