Calvin William Cordray, 96, Jefferson City, formerly of Osage County, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 20, 1924, to the late Fred and Mary (Joachim) Cordray in St. Louis.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Gens March 2, 1949, in St. Louis.

Calvin attended school in Osage County.

He was employed as a truck driver, an iron worker for the Corp of Engineers for 22 years as well as raising registered Aberdeen Angus cattle and hay on the family farm.

Calvin was a member of Capital West Christian Church in Jefferson City. While living in Osage County he was a member of Oklahoma Church of Christ and a charter member of the Community Christian Church. Calvin was a member N.A.R.F.E. and a lifetime member of the Angus Association.

He enjoyed working on the farm, gardening and spending time with his family.

Calvin was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Mary; son, Herman Cordray; two brothers; and one sister.

He is survived by spouse of 72 years, Elizabeth; daughters, Ruth Wheeler and husband Doug of The Villages, Fla., Deborah Bardwell and husband Tim of Jefferson City and Janice Whiteside and husband Barry of Hardeeville, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Tam Cordray of Turlock, Calif.; grandchildren, Callie Cordray, John Bardwell and wife Mary, Michael Bardwell, Lacy Fossati and husband Marco, Jennifer Gordon and husband Terry, Stephanie Wheeler, Jonah Whiteside and wife Lauren and Jordan Whiteside; 12 great-grandchildren and one due in May; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions suggested to Capital West Christian Church Chair Fund, Show-Me Youth Christian Home in La Monte or Oklahoma Church Cemetery Fund.
