Derek Conrad Holtmeyer, 35, Linn, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024.

He was born July 3, 1988, a son to his loving parents Beth Ann (Brauner) Holtmeyer and the late Robert Conrad Holtmeyer in Jefferson City.

He was a 2005 graduate of Linn High School and a graduate of State Technical College in Linn with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Distribution Systems (Lineman).

Derek was employed at a variety of businesses including Quaker Windows, ABB, Modern Litho, and Thoenen Turkey Loading. He enjoyed trying new things and possessed many work skills.

Derek enjoyed camping along with water activities like fishing and swimming.  He loved and cared for animals.  Derek made every effort to stay in shape by lifting weights.  He was a true Holtmeyer because of his love for Allis-Chalmers tractors and Ford trucks.

Derek’s life may have been short, but he impacted many lives.  Most important to him was his daughter, Hailey who was his pride and joy.  His love for his daughter, parents, family and friends could never be doubted.  Derek was everyone’s protector who never knew a stranger and always had a smile on his face.  He was a man of deep faith.  Derek’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his daughter and his family.  He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Derek was preceded in death by father, Robert; maternal grandparents, Hubert and Dorothy Brauner; and paternal grandparents, Ignatius “Stub” and Dolores Holtmeyer. 

He is survived by mother, Beth of Linn; daughter, Hailey Holtmeyer; best friend and Hailey’s mom, Angie Ablondi, both of Freeburg; sibling, Morgan “Travis” Holtmeyer and wife Alicia of Belle; nephews, Erick and Grant Holtmeyer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at Barefoot Event Center in Linn with Pastor Kayla Kelly-Beard officiating. The Celebration of Derek’s life will continue after the service.
