Dorothy Ann Brauner, 93, Bonnots Mill, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Dec. 14, 1929, to the late Lawrence Heimericks and Margaret (Wilbers) Heimericks Gerber in Jefferson City.

She was united in marriage to Hubert John Brauner June 21, 1949, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville.

Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of St. Peter High School.

Prior to marriage, she worked in the office at Fashion Cleaners. After getting married, Dorothy worked at a car dealership in Fulton. She then moved to Jefferson City and worked at International Shoe Factory and Cheesebrough-Ponds. In 1968, Dorothy began working as a supervisor in the accounting section of the Missouri Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division where she remained until retiring March 1, 1994 after 25 years of service. She was also a bookkeeper for her husband’s company, Brauner Masonry Construction Company from 1953 until 1980 and currently for Dan’s Ground Maintenance since 2009.

Dorothy enjoyed playing music, reading, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Hubert; parents, Lawrence and Margaret; son-in-law, Robert Holtmeyer; sister, Betty Hammond and husband Edward; step-father, Christopher Gerber, Sr.; and step-brother, Christopher Gerber, Jr. and wife Erma.

She is survived by children, Iris Wilbers and husband Louis, Nina Holtmeyer and husband James, Daniel Brauner and wife Jamie and Lisa Kempker and husband Ronald, all of Bonnots Mill and Beth Holtmeyer of Linn; grandchildren, Laura Distler and husband Melvin, Julie Luebbering and husband Josh, Kevin Wilbers and wife Liz, Scott Kever and friend Karen Burge, Christy Evers and husband Darren, Alyssa Bruemmer and husband Gary, Michelle Goins and husband Miles, Ryan Brauner, Travis Holtmeyer and wife Alicia, Derek Holtmeyer, Jennifer Winkelman and husband Justin and Jason Kempker and wife Shelby; step-grandchildren, Twyla Williams, Nick Holtmeyer, Andrew Vaughn and Casey Valverde; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Caroline Kraus; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, Feb. 11, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. Anthony Rinaldo officiating. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
