Fatima’s wrestling team battled in two quads last week, the boys going undefeated and the girls picking up quality matches, winning some, and finding ways to improve in others.

“I think the boys and girls wrestled very well last week,” said Coach Kurt Strope as the Comets opened the season 5-0 for the first time in several years. “It was fun seeing the jumps several of them made from Tuesday to Friday. Hopefully, they can continue to improve at that pace. Everyone on the team picked up wins, contributing to our victories. We hope to continue our streak of winning duals into the week to come.”

At the season-opening Boonville quad, Fatima won duals against Higginsville (60-12) and Boonville (48-31), and the JV defeated Missouri School for the Deaf (12-0).

The Comets won duals against Osage (42-36), Macks Creek (76-0), and Warsaw (44-36) at the Osage quad.

Skyla Schroeder went 5-0, Heidi Struemph was 3-2, and Elizabeth Meyer went 2-1 on the week.
