George Edward Davis Jr., 87, Vienna, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at his residence surrounded by family.
He was born June 20, 1936, to the late George E. and Ethel Mae (Dugmanics) Davis.
He served his country in the U. S. Army.
George was united in marriage to Victoria “Vicki” LaMure Nov. 22, 1995, at the United Methodist Church in Vienna.
He was employed with Smith Quarry’s in Vichy, as a limestone miner and as a deputy sheriff for Maries County, all while tending to his family farm outside of Vienna.
George was preceded in death by parents, George and Ethel.
He is survived by wife, Vicki of the home near Vienna; sons, Lynn Davis and wife Denise of Vienna, Kenneth Davis and wife Jane of Vichy and Richard Davis and wife Paula of Rolla; stepsons, Lee Harmon and wife Kristy of Harrisonville and Larry Harmon and wife Dagmar of Texas; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Seidel of Huntsville, Shirley Peterman of Rolla and Betty Davis of Vichy.
Funeral service is being held at 10 a.m., (today) Wednesday, July 26, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Vienna with Larry Davis officiating.
Interment will be in Lower Davis Cemetery near Vichy.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Lower Davis Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
