James Steven “Jim” Gradel, 76, Dixon, formerly of Freeburg, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, in Phelps Health in Rolla.
He was born April 27, 1944, to Anton Christopher and Odelia Catherine (Haller) Gradel.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, in Freeburg. James was a man of modest pleasures and enjoyed car rides, music, and McDonald’s hamburgers.
James was preceded in death by parents, Anton and Odelia; brother, Felix Gradel; and sister, Loretta Gradel.
He is survived by sisters, Betty Stratman of Westphalia and Berniece Marie Gradel of Freeburg; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 2, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna, with the Rev. Bill Debo officiating. Interment was in the Holy Family Cemetery in Freeburg with relatives and friends serving as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Holy Family Church and School in Freeburg.
