John A. Troesser, 80, Frankenstein, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Dec. 5, 1941, to the late Frank and Hilda (Kremer) Troesser in St. Louis.

He attended St. Mary School in Frankenstein, graduated from Fatima High School in 1959 and later from State Technical College with an associates degree in Drafting.

He was united in marriage to Carolyn Koenigsfeld Aug. 5, 1967, at Our Lady Help of Christian Catholic Church in Frankenstein.

John was the owner/operator of John Troesser Backhoe and Dump Truck Service. He also drove a school bus for Fatima School District for over 30 years.

John was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church where he served on the cemetery board. He also served on the Frankenstein Water Board and the State Technical College Advisory Council.

John was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Hilda; and daughter, Donna Troesser.

He is survived by spouse of 54 years, Carolyn; daughters, Lisa Hazel and husband Shawn of St. Charles, Janice Markway and husband Bob of Frankenstein, Nicole Gartner and husband Doug of O’Fallon and Melanie Brandt and husband Tim of Linn; grandchildren, Dylan and Logan Hazel, Emma Markway and fiancé Nathan Reichel, Anna, Leah and Tessa Markway, Ava Gartner, Taylor Brandt, Courtney Mantle and husband Beau, Luke Buhr and Grace, John, Leo, Henry and Kate Brandt; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Bennett Mantle; and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., (today) Wednesday, June 8, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 9, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Merz officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery.
