Larry Joseph Eberle Sr., 82, Dixon, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, in Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla.
He was born Nov. 19, 1940, to the late Lorrain and Gladys (Sudheiner) Eberle in St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis, Ill.
He served his country in the U. S. Marines and was honorably discharged.
Larry was united in marriage to to Wanda June Buff Dec. 2, 1961, in McAlester, Okla.
He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for 55 years for various companies including Quaker Windows and Doors in Freeburg.
Larry was preceded in death by wife, Wanda; parents, Lorrain and Gladys; sons, Michael Daniel Eberle and two infant sons; brothers, Frank and Gene Eberle; and sister Joyce Eberle.
He is survived by sons, Larry Joseph Eberle, Jr., of McLoud, Okla. and Matthew Shane Eberle of Dixon; brothers, Pete, John and Jimmy Eberle; sister, Mary; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation and rosary will be held from 5 until 7 p.m., (today) Wednesday, Feb.15, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Dixon. An additional rosary will be held from 10 until 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service Thursday, Feb. 16, also at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Dixon with Reverend William L. Korte officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be in St. Theresa Cemetery near Dixon.
