Leo A. Beckmann, 85, of Washington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at Mercy Hospital, Washington.

He was born June 21, 1938, to Raymond and Jesse Mae (McGuire) Beckmann in St. Louis.

He was united in marriage to Anita (Olivio) Beckmann, Sept. 20, 1983, in Chicago, Ill.

Leo ran four union businesses in the flooring industry in the St. Louis area including Custom Craft, Missouri Builders, County Interiors, and most recently Craftsman Interiors. He also volunteered for many years to deliver Meals on Wheels.

He is preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Jesse; son-in-law, Russell Uthe; sisters, Kathleen Wood and Barb Cull; and brother, Bob Beckmann.

Leo is survived by wife of 40 years, Anita, of the home; daughters, Theresa Uthe of Linn, Cherie Jones and husband Randy of Chesterfield, Angie Stewart and husband Jim, of Richmond, and Beth Deppe and husband Brian of Morrison; sons, Jeff Beckmann of O’Fallon, Rob Patterson of Seattle, Wash., and Jim Patterson and wife Nicole of Arnold; brother, Joe Beckmann and wife Pat of DeSoto; sisters, Mary Henderson of Hillsboro, and Rose Mary Guehne of Lonedell; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 23, from 2–5 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where a memorial service will follow at 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
