Linn’s volleyball team on Saturday at the Belle tournament, won due to a forfeit by Russellville after a solid day of pool play.
“We had a great day at the Belle tournament,” said Coach Kayla Peterson.
In the prelims, Linn defeated Bourbon 25-13, 25-17 as Nicole Grellner posted five of the 11 aces recorded in the match.
Lizzie Wingrath added two aces, Harlee Klebba had two, and Vivien Baker finished with one.
Linn split with Dixon, 25-18, 20-25.
Stat leaders were Klebba (3 aces, 3 blocks, 3 kills), Natalie Ramsey (2 aces, 1 dig), Saylie Schaefer (1 ace, 1 block), and Baker (1 kill, 3 digs).
The Lady Cats also took two from Belle, 25-17, 25-15.
Klebba had the team’s lone ace to go with two kills and a block. Baker posted three kills and a block, as Madison Wood had a kill.
On Thursday, the Lady Cats honored seniors Saylie Schaefer, Kendyl Peters, Natalie Ramsey, and Faith Hines. “I appreciate these girls and their leadership that has created a great environment to be a part of,” said Peterson.
In the match, Linn lost to Russellville in straight sets and the JV team fell in two.
