Loretta Margaret Lalk, 96, of Coronado, Calif., formerly of Morrison, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, in Coronado, Calif.

She was born Nov. 3, 1925, to the late Oscar Lambert and Leona Theresa (Oncken) Frey in Morrison.

She was a 1943 graduate of Herman High School.

Loretta was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clarence L. Lalk Nov. 8, 1946, in Pensacola, Fla.

Clarence was a career Navy man, so they moved many times. When they settled in Jacksonville, Fla., she worked as a secretary and LPN. They then moved back to Morrison in 1978.

Loretta was a member of Zion St. Peters Evangelical Church in Pershing and a member of the Women’s Fellowship and Fellowship Crusaders.

She and Clarence enjoyed traveling in their camper. Traveling included trips to Alaska, Nova Scotia and to the West and East coasts. Their son Ron was a captain with United Airlines and together they made many trips to Europe, England, Paris, Holland, Sicily, Hawaii and Italy. Three highlights of Loretta’s trips were Christmas at the Vatican, a visit to the home of Monet and viewing the Mona Lisa in Paris.

They were married 69 years and enjoyed their home and lake in their retirement, while sitting on their porch appreciating their view.

Loretta was preceded in death by husband, Clarence; parents, Oscar and Leona; and son, Senior Chief Danny Joe Lalk.

She is survived by son, Ronald Lalk and wife Kate of Sparta, N.J.; daughter-in-law, Kristen Lalk of Marietta, Ga.; and grandchildren, Jason, Spencer, Julianne, Sandra, Danielle and Jennifer Lalk; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at Zion St. Peters Evangelical Church in Pershing.

Inurnment will be held in Zion St. Peters Cemetery in Pershing.
