Marceline A. “Marcie” Branum, 95, Jefferson City, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Heisinger Bluffs.
Marcie was born Oct. 31, 1924 to Edwin and Genevieve (Renfert) Wildhaber in Argyle.
She was married May 15, 1946, to Ralph E. Branum.
A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Marcie attended grade school in Argyle and was a 1941 graduate of Argyle High School. After moving to Jefferson City, she worked for the Division of Employment Security for over 20 years. During many of those years, Marcie also helped operate her husband’s service stations in downtown Jefferson City, Branum’s Shell Service and Branum’s Sinclair Station. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception in Jefferson City where she sang in their choir. She was a member of the Immaculate Club and the Legion of Mary through the church.
Marcie was gifted at sewing, crocheting and making quilts. Her grandchildren were each blessed to receive a quilt from her. She loved to garden, plant flowers and landscape. She searched for and placed many “pretty” rocks around their family cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks. Some of her favorite memories were at the cabin at the Lake where they spent many summers.
She will be remembered for her generosity and supportive nature. Marcie cherished any activity that revolved around spending time with family and friends. Many of these times include large family gatherings where she would cook wonderful meals and share her fabulous pies, a good game of cut-throat pitch, or when she would beat everyone at dominos. She enjoyed many roads trips throughout the United States with family and trips to visit her family in Alaska.
She was preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Genevieve; loving husband of 68 years, Ralph; son, Richard E. Branum; siblings, Doris Wankum, Ralph Wildhaber and Francis “Franny” Wildhaber; brothers-in-law, Victor Schmitz and Greg Wankum; and sisters-in-law, Arlene Wildhaber and Laurine Wildhaber.
