Mark Leland Ethington, 63, Dixon, passed awayFriday, Sept. 17, 2021, at his home near Dixon.
He was born Aug. 16, 1958, to Robert Prewitt and Ruby Louise (Reeves) Ethington, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
He was united in marriage to Cathy Marie Forrest, January 19, 1978, in Waynesville.
Mark was a 1976 graduate of Dixon R-1 High School. Mark attended First Christian Church, Waynesville, as well as other churches in the Dixon area throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by mother Ruby; brother-in-law Terry Jacobs; former father-in-law Ken Forrest; and former sister-in-law Debbie Ferguson.
He is survived by father Robert of Troy; former wife Cathy Ethington of Dixon; daughters Jessica (Derek) Kingsbury of Puyallup, Wash. and Alicia Ethington of Dixon; brother Robert (Rhonda) Ethington, Jr., of Winchester, Va.; sisters Kimball Vaughan of Troy and Starla Jacobs of Marshall; former mother-in-law Louise Forrest of Dixon; and two granddaughters.
A Celebration of Life was held Friday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church, Dixon, with Bro. Michael Shaughnessy officiating.
Inurnment was in Clifty Cemetery, near Dixon.
Memorials suggested to The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, Treatment and Prevention Services.
Arrangements entrusted to Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon.
