Mary F. Stiefermann, 84, Frankenstein, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at Capitol Region Medical Center in Jefferson City surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Nov. 1, 1939, to the late Joseph and Frances (Dickneite) Radmacher in Kansas City.

She attended Holy Family Catholic School in Freeburg and was a 1957 graduate of Fatima High School.

Mary was united in marriage to Charles A. Stiefermann Oct. 13, 1962, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg. 

She was employed with the Missouri State Personnel Division until her son Michael was born. After raising her family, she worked part-time in various banking and accounting positions.

Mary was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, the Quilting Ladies and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She impacted the lives of many youth while volunteering many hours with 4-H and CYO. Mary also volunteered at the Good Shepherd Food Pantry, Red Cross blood drives, and worked the election polls. 

She enjoyed quilting, cooking, card games, going to the gambling boat and was very competitive in playing Words with Friends. Mary  also enjoyed picking gooseberries and was famous for her gooseberry pies and jelly and molasses cookies. Family was very important to her and she always put others before herself.      

Mary was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Frances; son, John Stiefermann; and sister, Lois Jean Radmacher.

She is survived by husband of 61 years, Charles; sons, Michael Stiefermann and wife Janet of Bonnots Mill and Thomas Stiefermann of Bonnots Mill; daughters, Karla Bier and husband Greg of Columbia, Kathleen Kloeppel and husband Glen of Westphalia and Anne Imhoff and husband Cory of Leawood, Kan.; brother, Jim Radmacher and wife Ruby of Taos; sisters, Ruth Hasenbeck and husband Larry of Jefferson City, Sharon Norton and husband A.T. of Marietta, Ga. and Phyllis Graham and husband Terry of Eugene; grandchildren, Sam Stiefermann and wife Courtney, Ashley Dudenhoeffer and husband Neal, Matt Stiefermann and wife Amber, Brandon Bier and wife Lauren, Kirstin Binz and husband John, Bridget Percy and husband Tyler, Hannah, Grace, Tyler and Zach Kloeppel and Allyson, Ryan and Chloe Imhoff; great-grandchildren, Noah, Brayden, Eoin, Natalie, Jack and Charlie; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 24, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein.

Mass of Christian Burial will being held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with Fr. Colin Franklin and Fr. Mark Porterfield officiating. Interment will be in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery.

Memorial contributions suggested to St. Mary’s School.
