R. Marian Ortbals, 67, Linn, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 23, 1954, to the late Robert Ray and Mary Joan (Beller) Kellogg in Jefferson City.
She was united in marriage to Tom Ortbals July 7, 1973, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
Marian was a 1972 graduate of Linn High School and a graduate of Lincoln University in Jefferson City with a degree in Criminal Justice. She was employed for 32 years with the Missouri Department of Corrections until retiring in 2011 due to health reasons.
Marian was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn, Eagles Club in Jefferson City and the Personnel Club at Jefferson City Correctional Center.
She was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Mary; and brothers, William and Kevin Kellogg.
Marian is survived by spouse of 47 years, Tom; daughter, Danielle Howard and husband Jeff of Linn; son, T.J. Ortbals and wife Staci of Columbia; three grandchildren; brothers, Robert Kellogg II and wife Patricia of Ballwin and John Kellogg and wife Jolene of Roach; and sister, Melanie Donovan and husband William of Linn.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m.-12 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, June 12, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Colin Franklin officiating.
Memorial contributions suggested to Samaritan Center in Jefferson City.
