Robert “Bob” F. Grellner, 78, Rich Fountain, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at MU Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born Sept. 29, 1945, to the late Albert and Mary (Bock) Grellner in Jefferson City.
He was a 1963 graduate of Fatima High School.
Bob proudly served his country in the United State Army Reserves.
He was united in marriage to Helen Welschmeyer Oct. 12, 1968, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg.
Bob worked as a glass cutter at Quaker Windows in Freeburg for 45 years before retiring in 2009.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.
Bob enjoyed coin collecting, arrowhead hunting, listening to old radio shows and jazz, and loved shopping going down every aisle of the store. He liked to go fishing and hunting for squirrels as well as cooking and baking. Bob and Helen would go to Jefferson City and watch the trains, made several trips to Branson over the years, and loved going to flea markets. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Mary; daughter, Kimberly Kremer; daughter-in-law, Linda Grellner; brother, Ambrose Grellner; and sister-in-law, Veronica Grellner.
He is survived by spouse of 55 years, Helen; sons, Doug Grellner and Darren “Donger” Grellner and friend Jeanna Monroe-Lansford, all of Linn; son-in-law, Joe Kremer of Loose Creek; brothers, Fred Grellner of Linn and George Grellner and wife Bernadette of Rich Fountain; sister-in-law, Helen M. Grellner of Rich Fountain; grandchildren, Loni Clawson and husband Mike, Trampus Rowden and wife Angie, Garrett Grellner and wife Molly, Molly Grellner-Anderson and husband Anon, Gavin Grellner, Connor Kremer and Adrienne and Cullen Lansford; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9 until 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with Fr. William Debo officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with full military honors.
Memorial contributions suggested to Sacred Heart Church Endowment Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
