Rodney L. Strope, 57, Chamois, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Dec.19, 1963, in Jefferson City, a son to the late John L. and Helen M. (Troesser) Strope.

He was united in marriage to Colleen Keilholz March 16, 1993, in Linn.

Rodney was a 1982 graduate of Linn High School. He was employed at Osage R-1 School in Chamois for 14 years until his health forced him to retire in 2017.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and woodworking but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Rodney was preceded in death by parents, John and Helen; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Jane Keilholz.

He is survived by wife of 28 years, Colleen; son, Zachary and fiancée Alexys of Chamois; daughters, Tiffany Perrey and husband Justin of Linn and Ashley Strope and fiancé Eddie of Chamois; grandchildren, Daylynn and Kenton Perrey, Keegan and Riley Fain and Andi Honey; brothers, Keith Strope and wife Brenda of Morrison, Dana Strope and Greg Strope and wife Ruth, all of Linn, Jeff Strope of Jefferson City; sisters, Yvonne Haslag and husband Dale of Linn, Kim Kever and husband Larry of Bonnots Mill and Stephanie Eichholz and husband Richard of Westphalia; sister-in-law, Deborah Keilholz of Fulton; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, May 25, at Morton Chapel in Chamois with Stanley Strope officiating. Interment was in the Deer Creek Cemetery near Chamois.
