Rosemary “Rosie” Voss, 83, Linn, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 19, 1937, to the late Bill and Helen (Vaughn) Scheulen in Loose Creek.
She was united in marriage to Matt Voss May 15, 1957, at St. George Catholic Church.
Rosie was a 1955 graduate of Linn High School. She was a homemaker and worked on their dairy farm with her husband raising their six children.
Rosie was a member of St. George Catholic Church all her life, having received her First Communion, Confirmation as well as graduating from St. George School. She was also a member of St. Ann’s Sodality, Sewing Circle, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and McDonald’s Bingo Club.
Rosie enjoyed playing cards, marbles, Yahtzee, and bingo. She also enjoyed ceramics, quilting and sewing making many beautiful quilts for her family and was known for her famous cinnamon rolls and panas. Rosie had a “servants’ heart” always putting other people before herself.
She was preceded in death by parents, Bill and Helen; brother, Richard Scheulen; sister, JoAnn Nilges; and brother-in-law, Lonnie Nilges.
Rosie is survived by spouse of 63 years, Matt; children, Colleen Kliethermes and husband Ralph of Belle, Steve Voss and wife Doris of Linn, Matt “Sonny” Voss of Wentzville, Diana Foster and husband Danny of Linn, Ronald Voss and his Lara of Linn and Douglas Voss and wife Brenda of Lohman; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister-in-law, Kris Scheulen of Loose Creek; step-mother, Eleanor Scheulen of Loose Creek; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Colin Franklin and Fr. Daniel Merz officiating. Interment was in the St. George Parish Cemetery in Linn.
Memorial contributions suggested to St. George Catholic Church.
