Beginning tomorrow (Thursday), all seven Warden Publishing schools will begin their road to the 2024 Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City with their respective conference track meets.

Fatima, Chamois and Linn will begin a stretch of three conference track meets over the span of six days starting tomorrow (Thursday) with the final Show-Me Conference track meet to be held at South Callaway High School in Mokane.

Field events will begin at 3:30 p.m., with the exception of the javelin which will start at 3:15 p.m.

Running events in Mokane will start at 4:30 p.m.

After this school year, the Show-Me Conference will be no more with half of the schools joining the new Central State 8 Conference and the Show-Me Central Conference.

Linn will be joining the Central State 8 while Chamois will be joining the Show-Me Central.

Fatima will become independent while hopefully joining a new conference in the near future.

On Saturday, Belle and Vienna will begin their roads to Jefferson City with the Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) Track Meet scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m., with field events at Cuba High School.

This will be Vienna’s last GVC track meet as they will be leaving the conference after this school year and joining the Show-Me Central.

Making up the rest of the Show-Me Central will be Chamois, St. Elizabeth and Tuscumbia out of the old Show-Me Conference in addition to Jamestown, Calvary Lutheran, Bunceton and Prairie Home out of what will be the old Cooper County Athletic Association.

Rounding out the stretch of three conference track meets over a six-day span will be the annual Four Rivers Conference (FRC) track meet hosted by Hermann High School beginning on Monday, April 29 with field events at 9:30 a.m., with running events starting shortly after that at 10 a.m., inside Bearcat Memorial Stadium.

One change from previous years will be that the 100-meter and 200m dashes along with the hurdles races will be ran as finals with heats against time.

In years past, there were preliminaries where the heat winners and next fastest times qualified for the finals.
