Thomas “Mike” Michael Fowler, 63, Linn, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born July 5, 1960, to the late Thomas and Nelly (Bridges) Fowler in Warm Springs, Ga.
He was a 1978 graduate of Jefferson City High School and later attended Nichols Career Center.
Mike was united in marriage to Melody R. Bexten June 22, 2002, in Westphalia.
He was employed with Blackwells Garage, Ewers Tires and J & M Automotive before taking a job driving over-the-road trucks for three years. Mike then worked for Wiese Planning and Engineering and most recently for Scholastic.
He was a “big” Facebook “junkie” and loved to post or re-post jokes to make people laugh.
Mike was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Nelly; father-in-law, Stephen Bexten; and brother-in-law, William Bexten.
He is survived by spouse of 21 years, Melody; daughters, Shara Beuchter and Jessica Monroe and husband Derek, all of Jefferson City; son, Jonathan Fowler of Jefferson City; siblings, Larry Fowler and wife Lori of Osage Beach and Lisa Fowler of Holts Summit; mother-in-law, Betsy Groner and husband Clem of Westphalia; brother-in-law Kevin Bexten and wife Glenda of Linn; sisters-in-law, Sandy Ewen and husband Tom of Illinois and Kim Clough and husband Darien of Linn; as well as grandchildren, nieces; nephews; and dear friends who were very special to him.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions suggested to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
