Wesley Eugene Hayes, 87, Vienna, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 11, 1934, to the late Homer Eugene and Neva Marie (Ramsey) Hayes at Hayden.
He was united in marriage to Velma Ruth Snodgrass Oct.11, 1952, at Dixon.
Wes attended Kenner Church of God. He was a member of the Vienna Gun Club.
Wes was a lifelong farmer in Maries County, near Bell Chute Access, dealing in row crops and livestock on his Gasconade River bottom farm.
He was preceded in death by parents, Homer and Neva; son, Darrell Hayes; daughter, Cathy Hayes; brothers, Gerald, Norman “Pat” and Roy Hayes; and sister, Loretta Williams.
Wes is survived by wife of 69 years, Velma of their home in Vienna; sons, Rocky Hayes and wife Ann of Cape Girardeau, Michael Hayes and wife Donna of Dixon and Ryan Hayes and wife Lori of Vienna; and daughters, Becky James and husband Brian and Susan Brunnert and husband Mark, all of Vienna and Robin Kleffner and husband Michael of Brinktown; 17grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 30, in Kenner Church of God in Dixon with Rev. Karen Alden and Pastor Beverly Sharp officiating. Interment was in Kenner Cemetery.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Kenner Cemetery or Felkerson Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
