William “Bill” G. Donaldson, 64, Loose Creek, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at his residence.
He was born July 1, 1958, to the late Howard and Wilma (Petty) Donaldson in Independence.
He attended school in Independence and proudly served four years in the U. S. Marine Corp and an additional sixteen years in the U. S. Army.
After his military duties, Bill was employed at KC Blue Print in Kansas City.
He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed football, photography and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by parents, Howard and Wilma; brother, Kevin Donaldson; and sister, Pat Keithly.
He is survived by daughter, Mariah Backes and husband Patrick of Loose Creek; stepsons, Jeremy Jones and wife Cassi and Joshua Jones and wife Tara, both of Springfield; brothers, Michael Donaldson and wife Connie of Camdenton and Howard Donaldson, Jr. of the state of Arizona; sisters, Carla Weaver and husband Russ of Raytown and Twyla Coin of Kansas City; grandchildren, Bennett Rowden, Rylie Jo and MaKayla Backes and Wesley, Sally and Jackson Jones; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
Military Honors and a Celebration of Life were held Friday, June 30, at Morton Chapel in Linn with Rev. Todd Holman officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Linn Public Cemetery.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Children’s Heart Foundation.
