In a very well-rounded team effort on Friday, the Chamois Pirates defeated Bunceton 50-13. “We played great on both ends,” said Coach Parker Jett. “When these young men play with confidence, there is no limit to what they can do.”
Individual stats were not available due to a technological delay, but Jaxon Wuelling scored his 1,000th point in the contest. “It was a special moment to recognize him for his dedication to the sport and to the program here at Chamois,” said Jett.
Last Tuesday, the Pirates fell to Jamestown, 42-26.
“We really defended well and had some great opportunities,” said Jett. “We just could not get anything to fall, or get going offensively. It was a very physical game, and being able to fight and defend the way we did shows a lot about the group.”
On the night, Chamois shot 25% from the field, with four three-pointers and limited attempts at the FT line (2-6).
J. Wuelling covered three of the team’s three-pointers on his way to 15 points. Max McKague drained the other trey and finished with six points, as Oliver Carter added three, and Grayson Gerloff posted two. Kaden Wuelling and Carter counted two assists apiece.
On the glass, Carter claimed a team-high 11 rebounds, as J. Wuelling, K. Wuelling, and McKague grabbed three each, and Gerloff added two.
